What We Do

Package Design & Sample Blister Production

Arguably, the most important part of any blister tooling format set is the package design.  A properly designed package is paramount to the success of your operations and without it, the chance of producing quality blisters is severely diminished.  This is what sets HPT Pharma apart from most machine shops that have similar machining capabilities.

HPT Pharma offers comprehensive package design services drawing upon decades of industry experience. These designs, made using state-of-the-art 3D software, are provided within an industry best 24-48 hours from the time of inquiry. Completed designs include volume and surface area calculations to assist with stability studies along with product & seal pattern details. All designs are optimized to increase line throughput and may strive to take advantage of your existing tooling inventory. For non-standard requirements, HPT draws upon its vast network of material supplier relationships to provide practical solutions to challenging applications. HPT can also provide 3D printed samples of cavity & card designs for engineering and marketing evaluation.

When a drawing is just not enough, HPT Pharma now takes it one step further by offering the capability of sample blister production.  This allows customers to get actual blisters in their hands, whether for marketing or sales purposes, or large needs like CR testing and ship studies.  We are able to make blisters in quantities from 10 -10,000.  This is sometimes an important step to be taken before committing to purchasing a full set of blister tooling.

With coldform and thermoform prototyping capabilities, HPT Pharma’s sample blister production can simplify the complex science of pharmaceutical packaging. We run distinct testing services on our Klockner EAS II blister machine, which is designed to handle PVC, ACLAR and ALU/ALU forming material. Compatible with flood- or hand-feeding systems and plug assist, the EAS II is a terrific platform to prove-out innovative designs. The result? Proven solutions that enable your blister packaging project to hit the ground running.
